Item Description
A cool specimen for any fan of worldwide Garnets or if you're a fan of Greek minerals, don't miss out on this one, as they are rarely available on the market. This specimen was collected by a good friend of ours in Greece in 2018. It hails from the little known skarn deposit called Kimmeria near the town of Xanthi in northeastern Greece. I've seen only a handful of these over the years. This is one of only a couple specimens of this material that we've had to offer in the auctions and it features several very sharp, lustrous, well-formed dodecahedral crystals of dark bronze colored Andradite Garnet measuring up to 6 mm on pistachio green colored Epidote matrix. Most of the Andradites are in good shape, though there are some contacted / incomplete crystals here and there.
