Item Description

Lustrous, very sharp, andradite garnet crystals form a striking and very sculptural specimen from a very uncommon locale in Chile - the Candelaria Mine. The crystals are mostly jet-black, but have tiny flashes of brown gemminess. They are classic dodecahedrons beveled by trapezohedrons. The pattern of the crystals looks like modern art! The frontal display is in super shape and the periphery wear on the sides is a very modest detraction. This is a superb and extremely rare example of the species and locale. It was for many years part of the Pala Properties/Bill Larson Garnet Collection and was on display at the Fallbrook shop. Valued at $1000
