Item Description

RARE LOCALITY GARNET! Andradite garnets are seldom seen and available from the famous mines at Naica. Lustrous, sharp, andradites richly and attractively cover the mounded matrix of fluorite and sphalerite on this uncommon and very showy specimen. The textbook, dodecahedral crystals reach 2.0 cm and the dark, olive-green crystals are partially gemmy. A lighter olive-green andradite overgrowth really adds character and color to the crystals. Rare, highly representative, older combination material from the Consie Prince Collection. A must for the locality or species collector. We hav eseen only a handful of these on the market in several decades. Valued $400
