Impressive, rare, VERY LARGE for the locale, sharp, 5.5 cm, andradite garnet crystal from the mid-1990s finds at this well-known skarn claim, that produced world-class Epidote and Japan law-twinned Quartz crystals. This textbook sharp and highly lustrous dodecahedron appears to be mostly black in normal light, but bright light reveals orange-brown translucence on some edges and areas. Andradites from here were generally less than 3.0 cm. Complete all-around and in great shape. The impressions on one face, where smaller andradites once lay, add much character.
