A huge and excellent andradite garnet from this well-known California locale - Garnet Hill. The intergrown piece has wonderful variable reddish-brown color, complex crystallization and excellent luster. Some areas glow with rich mahogany color, when brightly lit. The few noted contacts have very minimal impact to this overall outstanding quality of this large specimen from this locale. Probably old-time material, but no proof.
