Item Description

These are some of the most well-known Garnet specimens from any US locality. The distinctive color of these Andradites along with the semi metallic luster are a dead giveaway for their origin. Here we have a wonderful small cabinet sized piece from Stanley Butte featuring many sharp, well-formed, lustrous dodecahedra of Andradite measuring up to 8 mm on minor matrix. Virtually all of the crystals are undamaged on the display side, and the only real damage is around the periphery where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. I really like the three-dimensional form of the piece, and it displays wonderfully PLEASE NOTE: This specimen is labeled as coming from "Limestone Mountain", but this could be a mistake as the locality is actually Quartzite Mountain.
