Andradite (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A wonderful large miniature / small cabinet display specimen of the famous Andradites from Garnet Hill. Sharp, glossy, rich reddish-brown modified flattened dodecahedra with minor greyish Calcite around the periphery. The largest crystal measures 1.8 cm and there is no real damage to the main crystals, though some are contacted around the edges. Ex Kay Robertson Collection #5095. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A beautiful and attractive old-timer from this famous locale.
