Item Description
This is a fine quality Andradite Garnet specimen from the Ojos Españoles Mine (Spanish Eyes Mine) in Chihuahua, Mexico featuring dozens of very sharp, highly lustrous, well-formed, deep brown-black colored dodecahedral crystals (with thin trapezohedral modifications) measuring up to 8 mm across, sitting on matrix. Nearly all of the crystals are pristine and the piece is quite presentable and eye-catching. Often, the crystals from this locality with have small "stepped" overgrowths on the faces, but this piece has notably SMOOTH faces on virtually every crystal. A choice piece of this old classics from Mexico, which are not nearly as plentiful on the market as they were 20 years ago.
