Item Description

This beautifully colored grass green Andradite garnet specimen shows off complete crystals that somehow formed, open to the environment, in a skinny seam of the host rock. The sharp well formed crystals, measuring up to 4.6 mm, seem to be overflowing the matrix. The Andradites have a high glassy luster with a nice translucency that can especially be seen on the few that are perched on top. The curated California specimen is from the Bill Larson Garnet Collection and is in great condition. A really appealing San Benito county Andradite with superb color and an electric green fire! Ex. Bill Larson Collection, from his garnet suite assembled in the 1970s-1980s. Rare in this quality!
