Item Description

Andorite is an uncommon Pb-Sb-Ag sulfosalt and was named for the Hungarian mineral collector Andor von Semsey (1833-1923), who holds a remarkable distinction for having two mineral species named after him (andorite and semseyite). This species reaches its zenith at the tin mines in Bolivia. Splendent, layered, elongated, crudely crystallized nubby crystals comprise this excellent miniature specimen. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection.
