Item Description

Andalusite is one of those minerals that is found in a lot of localities, but good crystals are something that we rarely see. Specimens from Jenipapo are some of the better crystallized Andalusites to come out in the last 10-15 years. This miniature sized crystal is a sharp, well-formed, orthorhombic prism of Andalusite. The termination is a bit crude as it was contacted and later recrystallized, but the prism faces are smooth and well-formed. It's very slightly translucent around the edges when backlit. If you're a fan of morphology, this is a pretty good example of a single crystallized Andalusite to add to your collection.
