A wonderful old-time display specimen of these fine quality Andalusites from Villa di Chiavenna, Italy featuring blocky, prismatic crystals measuring up to 2.7 cm, with a soft golden tan hue, sitting on massive Quartz matrix. It's difficult to find good quality, free-standing crystals good condition from this locality, because they form in the massive Quartz, which makes them difficult to expose and preserve without damage. The main crystal is in very good condition, and the overall piece is rather showy for the material. These pieces were found in the early 1990s, and rarely seen on the market, especially in pieces of this quality and size.
