Item Description

While Anatase is not a rare species, there are truly only a handful of world localities that have produced showy display pieces. Outside of Norway, these specimens from Pakistan are some of the best contemporary Anatase specimens from any locality. It should be noted that some of the Norwegian localities for Anatase exist in the Hardangervidda National Park, where collecting is not allowed, so specimens are much harder to find than they were years ago. These Pakistani specimens date back to the early 2000s in the Kharan District of Pakistan where some really fine quality and attractive specimens of Brookite, and of course Anatase were found. These piece are truly "Alpine-type", and in nearly every aspect identical to the classic specimens in European. This wonderful small cabinet display specimen features a few very sharp, incredibly lustrous, deep metallic blue and golden colored tetragonal crystal of Anatase measuring up to 6 mm sitting nicely on a layer of white bladed Albite with a few Quartz crystals on matrix. Virtually no damage of note that I can see, and Anatase really doesn't get much more lustrous or sharper than this even from the classic locales in places like Norway or the Binntal of Switzerland.
