Item Description

It's not easy to find Anatase specimens from this well-known Russian locale. This full sized cabinet specimen features a pristine, euhedral, razor-sharp, lustrous, steel-blue colored Anatase crystal measuring 4 mm sitting in semi-fibrous Amphibole matrix. A few smaller partial crystals of Anatase can be seen on the piece as well, but the main crystal is what counts here. These specimens came out for a brief time in the early to mid 1990s, and no more were ever found. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12205). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
