Item Description

A dramatic plate of water-clear, smoky quartz crystals combined with lustrous anatase crystals from Hardangervidda, Norway. The striking highlights of this piece are certainly the centrally placed, 2.6 cm smoky studded with anatase crystals up to 1.2 cm long and the super-cute, 9 mm, doubly terminated, anatase on smoky right behind the large smoky. Smoky quartz is uncommon for the locality. This is a outstanding and aesthetic anatase and smoky quartz specimen. A bit of scattered periphery wear has very minimal impact on the overall quality of this fine piece. Dr. Hansen obtained this piece in a small lot trade with the Smithsonian, who in turn traded with the Geology Museum at the University of Oslo for this material, in the 1970s-early 80s. RARELY available in this quality on today's market. Valued at $800-1000.
