Item Description
A few years ago, there was a find of superb "Alpine-type" quality Brookite and Anatase specimens from the Kharan District of Pakistan. The Anatase specimens found at this locality are some of the finest quality pieces to be found in the modern era of minerals. This particular specimen features a very sharp, highly lustrous, well formed tetragonal crystal of Anatase with a nice blue color that can be seen just under the surface of the crystal when viewed in strong lighting. The crystal measures 6 mm and sits nicely on the matrix creating a very attractive display specimen. This is a good quality Anatase specimen from any locality, on par with the classic specimens from Norway with regard to quality and crystal size. From the worldwide collection of famed Italian mineral collector, field collector and author, Francesco Bedogne of Sondrio, Italy (Collection #175). Bedogne wrote dozens of articles and several books about the mineralogy of Italian Alpine localities such as Val Bregaglia, Val Masino, Val Codera, Val Spluga, Valtellina and the famous Val Malenco. He was also the founder of the Valtellinese Mineralogical Institute.
