Item Description

Some of the finest quality examples of Anatase starting coming out of Baluchistan in the early 2000s. They, along with the superb crystals of Brookite found in the region are some of the most well-known discoveries from anywhere in Pakistan. These fine quality "Alpine-type" crystals, are fairly identical to crystals of their respective species from the European Alps in terms of quality, color and size. Considering how little is found in the Alps each year, the additional specimens on the market from Pakistan was certainly appreciated by the collecting community. This small cabinet specimen features several superb, HIGHLY lustrous, razor sharp, textbook, tetragonal crystals (some of which are doubly-terminated) of Anatase measuring up to 4 mm with associated with bladed white Albite on host rock matrix. Most of the Anatase crystals are completely undamaged and look beautiful up close. The color is a very dark steel-blue tone in most of the crystals, but you can see golden hues as well when they are backlit. Almost nothing is available on the market today, so don't miss out on this attractive and fine quality specimen of this fantastic material. This piece was found in 2004. Valued at $500.
