Anapaite (rich , unusual European locality!)

Anapaite is a rare iron and calcium phosphate, and these septarian nodules from Bellver de la Cerdanya are considered European classics but rarely seen for sale. Most of us only see the material from the Crimea. One Anapaite nodule within the overall structure would be considered a find, but having TWO 3 cm Anapaite pockets in this cabinet piece makes it a treasure. The Anapaites are gemmy, lustrous, and an olive green color, and they carpet each of these internal nodules brilliantly. This is certainly one of the richest and best I have seen from here - but then in the USA, i have only seen a few scraps of this, never a good specimen. Formerly in the Howard Belsky collection.
