Item Description

Some of the best, and well-known, examples of Anapaite crystals (a rare phosphate) are found on the Kerch peninsula in the Crimea, Ukraine. This small cab features a fan-like, 6 mm cluster of lustrous, mint-green Anapaite that stands out very nicely against the Limonite, and possibly Goethite, that replaces the fossil mollusk shell. Combinations like this are absolutely classic for Kerch. Known for over a century, this rare calcium iron phosphate gets its name from the town of Anapa on the north east coast of the Black Sea, and this attractive small cab is a very representative for the locality. old material now, hard to obtain.
