Item Description
Lustrous, translucent, pretty light apple-green, pod-like aggregates of sharp anapaite crystals aesthetically and partially fill the interior of a 2.9 cm fossilized mollusc shell, in oolitic ironstone matrix, on this very fine small cabinet from the Type Locality in Russia. There are more mollusc fragments on the sculptural matrix. Very interesting combination! This locality somehow, for whatever weird reasons, produces the best of this species to this day (this was probably found in the early 1990s heyday of the phosphate pod and iron mining here). Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. Very high-grade material from this locality. valued $400-500
