Item Description

Lustrous, translucent, parallel-growth sheaves of yellow-green anapaite crystals are nicely scattered on the ironstone matrix on this classic from the Ukraine. This locality is now mined through and specimens are hard to obtain. Anapaite, a phosphate, is found in lacustrine (lake) sediments. Ex Alfred Stevenson and Eugene Carmichael Collections.
