Item Description
A rarely seen full cabinet sized display specimen from the lesser-known Mt Oladri Quarries in Sardinia, featuring many sharp, well-formed, rather gemmy, white/colorless trapezohedral crystals of Analcime on matrix. The largest crystals are actually not fully formed due to the fact that they grew in a narrow seam and were too big to finish crystallizing, so they grew up against the other side of the wall. The largest fully formed crystal measures 1.0 cm across. This is certainly the biggest and most impressive example of this material that we've ever had to offer. If you collect zeolites or minerals from Italy, this is very worthwhile example from this obscure locale.
From the collection of Vasco Trancoso, a medical doctor and prominent mineral collector from near Lisbon, Portugal (https://www.mindat.org/user-11954.html). He assembled his mineral collection over the course of 60 years, and built a fine worldwide display collection that we recently purchased. This piece is pictured on mindat.org at https://www.mindat.org/photo-259700.html
