Analcime (rare from Namibia)

Please note that in Kurt's collection catalogue, this piece is listed as coming from a place called "Hardad", but I can't find a listing for this locality anywhere, so we're leaving it simply as Namibia. It could be from the Goboboseb Mountains in the Brandberg Area, but it doesn't quite look like those pieces as the matrix is a bit different. This piece hosts several sharp, well-formed, off-white colored, textbook trapezohedral crystals of Analcime measuring up to 2.7 cm across on volcanic matrix. If anybody out there has some insight as to where this piece specifically could be from, please let us know. With that said, Analcime specimens are rarely seen from Namibia, and this is certainly one of the best examples we've had to offer in the auctions. From the collection of Kurt Hefendehl (#99 Na), a well-known German collector all over Europe with worldwide contacts to dealers and collectors. He started collecting seriously at the age of 14 and his great and varied worldwide collection reached over 6000 pieces. He was very active mineralogically until shortly before his passing in 2020 at the age of 82. Considering his collection had a large number of pieces, it still had an unusually high standard of quality from most worldwide localities. He particularly specialized in all classics as well as minerals of the Black Forest, where he spent much time collecting. His Black Forest and German subcollections went to his good friend Wolfgang Wendel.
