Outstanding, classic and rich large analcime specimen from the well-known and extinct Traprock basalt Upper New Street Quarry at Paterson in New Jersey. This is a very large and fine example for the old finds. Classic, large, sharp, translucent, snow-white trapezohedral crystals, to 2.5 cm, richly and attractively fill the sculptural vug in basalt matrix. This old quarry operated from 1893 until 1925. The quarry walls were trimmed in the 1980s for new housing development, yielding many new specimens. This is one of the most famous New Jersey Traprock quarries. Formerly in the Joe Cilen Collection No. 8359. Joe was a well-known New Jersey collector, who accumulated over 23,000 specimens. He passed away in 1997. Ex Brent Kent Collection.
