Item Description

From a find in 2003, this is a rarely seen specimen of Analcime from Wasson's Bluff, which is probably best known for its beautifully warm colored Chabazites and Stilbites. Sharp, well-formed, white colored trapezohedra of Analcime measuring up to 2.1 cm across are sitting on the underlying volcanic matrix. The Analcimes are quite glassy and even gemmy in areas, which is significant for the species and the locality, as a lot of Analcime from around the world cane often be dull, white and opaque. For the most part, nearly all of the crystals are undamaged, but there is one edge that was contacted against the pocket wall, so it there are some incomplete crystals. Very attractive, and not easy to find on the market.
