Item Description

A classic, shapely, well-formed and preserved ammonite fossil from Germany. The lustrous coiled specimen is wonderfully preserved, with no crushing or distortion. The front is pristine and the back is partially contacted. We believe this is Parkinsonia species of Middle Juassic Bajocian in age (170-168 MYA). The specimen possibly has some pyrite. A fine example from the Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection.
