Item Description
Ametrine is a unique, naturally occurring purple and yellow bi-color variety of Quartz where separate individually colored zones (purple AMEthyst and yellow ciTRINE) are intergrown to form an alternating "radiation" pattern of purple and yellow triangles when the pieces are sliced and plished and viewed down the c axis. This two colors are oriented from these crystals to cut the famous bicolor gemstones. This large miniature sized specimen is a natural, bi-color purple and yellow, colorful polished slab of Ametrine with a complete outer "rind", no breaks or cracks.. The piece is very gemmy in areas and shows true NATURAL (UNHEATED) yellow Citrine, which is incredibly rare in nature. A very cool representative polished slice of this material that is only found in one place in the world in this quality and capacity, the Anahi Mine in Bolivia. I've seen specimens labeled as coming from Brazil, but this is because the Bolivian material is sometimes sent to Brazil for processing / polishing, and then they slap a "Made in Brazil" sticker on them, but everything is found in Bolivia. Weight = 53.11 grams. Valued at $500.
