This is a unique variety of Quartz from the finest occurrence in the world. Ametrine is a naturally occurring purple and yellow bi-color variety that is formed by a unique twin law ("Brazil Law Twinning") where two separate individually colored crystals are intergrown to form an alternating "radiation" pattern of purple and yellow triangles when viewed down the c axis. This two colors are oriented from these crystals to cut the famous bicolor gemstones. Here we have a natural, bi-color purple and yellow, colorful polished slice of Ametrine. The piece is pretty gemmy and shows true NATURAL (UNHEATED) yellow Citrine, which is incredibly rare in nature surrounded by purple Amethyst. A very cool polished "slab" of this material that is only found in one place in the world in this quality and capacity! The best part of this piece is the fact that the outer "rind" is completely intact, which is rare for this material. The piece weighs 122 grams. Priced at $800.
