Item Description
This is a unique variety of Quartz from the finest occurrence in the world. Ametrine is a naturally occurring purple and yellow bi-color variety that is formed by a unique twin law ("Brazil Law Twinning") where two separate individually colored crystals are intergrown to form an alternating "radiation" pattern of purple and yellow triangles when viewed down the c axis. This two colors are oriented from these crystals to cut the famous bicolor gemstones. Here we have a natural, bi-color purple and yellow, colorful polished slab of Ametrine that weighs 130 grams (650 carats). The piece is nearly water clear in areas and shows true NATURAL (UNHEATED) yellow Citrine, which is incredibly rare in nature. A very cool representative "slab" of this material that is only found in one place in the world in this quality and capacity! We've seen gems of Ametrine selling for upwards of $50 per carat for fine stones, so the perceived market value of the material is on the rise.
