Item Description

Ametrine is a beautiful, natural, unique variety of Quartz and the best examples are those found in the eastern Bolivian jungle. This material occurs in attractive, gemmy purple and yellow bi-color crystals (some say that the bi-colored appearance is created from "Brazil-Law Twinning") where two separate individually colored crystals are intergrown to form an wonderful alternating "radiation" pattern of yellow and purple triangles that can be seen when the crystals are sliced along c axis. The famous bicolor gemstones are created when the two colors are properly oriented from these crystals. Here we have a lovely, purple and yellow, colorful sliced and polished slab of Ametrine with good internal gemminess and saturation of color. There are nearly water clear sections in the piece, but what's most significant to me is that it shows true NATURAL (UNHEATED) yellow Citrine, which is incredibly rare in nature. A very cool example of this classic material from Bolivia, which is the only source in the world for this quality and capacity of Ametrine! Weight = 124.89 grams. Valued at $750 in the inventory for size, quality, color and gemminess.
