Item Description
This is a unique variety of Quartz from the finest occurrence in the world. Ametrine is a naturally occurring purple and yellow bi-color variety that is formed by a unique twin law ("Brazil Law Twinning") where two separate individually colored crystals are intergrown to form an alternating "radiation" pattern of purple and yellow triangles when viewed down the c axis. This is how the two colors are oriented to cut the bicolor gemstones, This is a very unique, one-of-a-kind, yellow/purple bicolor carving of Lizards out of solid Ametrine. A very attractive, well made, detailed and colorful carving. It has come to my attention that the mine is no longer in production of this material and the market has quickly "dried up". Don't miss this opportunity to own a unique, colorful, large, naturally occuring gemstone. Keep in mind that this Ametrine carving is NOT from Brazil. Most of the Bolivian material is cut/carved in Brazil and marketed as being found in Brazil, but I wanted to maintain the pedigree of this piece. This piece was valued at $1.50 per carat for a retail value of $364.50 so the starting bid puts this beautiful carving below wholesale! Enjoy!
