Item Description
This is a unique variety of Quartz from the finest occurrence in the world. Ametrine is a naturally occurring purple and yellow bi-color variety that is formed by a unique twin law ("Brazil Law Twinning") where two separate individually colored crystals are intergrown to form an alternating "radiation" pattern of purple and yellow triangles when viewed down the c axis. The two colors are oriented based upon their position inside the crystal to create the famous bicolor gemstones, This particular gem was cut by Allyce Kosnar on December 1, 2010 and is a GORGEOUS and totally one-of-a-kind, superbly cut, mixed purple/yellow bicolor, virtually eye clean gemstone with an eye-catching "Modified Heart" cut. This gem is a truly beautiful stone and when Ametrine is well cut, it looks amazing. The most important aspect of this stone is the fact that it is not only a bicolor gem, but the colors are separated into four alternating distinct corners of the gem! It is exceptionally difficult to orient a piece of rough to produce a stone like this. I can promise that this stone is totally unique as it would be virtually impossible to replicate the color pattern. If you've ever wanted a truly SPECIAL, high quality Ametrine that stands out from the rest, do not let this stone get away! It has come to my attention that the mine is no longer in production of this material and the market has quickly "dried up". Don't miss this opportunity to own a unique, colorful, naturally occuring/untreated gemstone.
