Item Description
This is a unique variety of Quartz from the best occurrence in the world. Ametrine is a naturally occurring purple and yellow bi-color variety that is formed by a unique twin law ("Brazil Law Twinning") where two separate individually colored crystals are intergrown to form an alternating "radiation" pattern of purple and yellow triangles when viewed down the c axis. This is how the two colors are oriented to cut the bicolor gemstones, This particular gem is a unique, one-of-a-kind, 60/40 yellow/purple bicolor, nearly eye clean "Emerald" cut gemstone. The most interesting aspect of the stone is the fact that it actually shows a purple color on BOTH ENDS, with a light yellow color in the middle. It is a flashy and colorful gem, and will probably end up being a great bargain for one lucky bidder. It has come to my attention that the mine is no longer in production of this material and the market has quickly "dried up". Don't miss this opportunity to own a unique, colorful, naturally occuring gemstone. Keep in mind that this Ametrine is NOT from Brazil. Most of the Bolivian material is cut/carved in Brazil and thus marketed as being found in Brazil, but I wanted to maintain the pedigree of this piece.
