Item Description
Ametrine is a unique variety of Quartz from the finest occurrence in the world. It is a naturally occurring purple and yellow bi-color variety that is formed by a unique twin law ("Brazil Law Twinning") where two separate individually colored crystals are intergrown to form an alternating "radiation" pattern of purple and yellow triangles when viewed down the c axis. The two colors are oriented to cut these interesting bicolor gemstones. This particular gem is a unique, one-of-a-kind, nearly 70/30 purple/yellow bicolor, "Emerald" cut gemstone. It has come to my attention that the mine is no longer in production of this material and the market has quickly "dried up".
