This striking, large single crystal has an incredible, variable, rich dark purple hues and the deepest color saturation. The nifty phantom in the termination is dramatic and this is a doubly terminated crystal. The lustrous crystal is transparent to near opaque. Complete all-around and pristine, except for a small contact, lower on one side. It looks like the finest amethyst for the size and rich purple you can imagine, comparable to the the best from Amatitlan, Guerrero, Mexico. The secondary quartz adds character.
