Amethyst with Calcite* (*Calcite is rare from Bolivia)

Item Description

This specimen is an attractive toenail / small miniature piece consisting of a few good quality, sharp, GEM/gemmy, lustrous, prismatic, lavender prisms of Amethyst measuring up to 16 mm associated with grey modified rhombohedra of Calcite sitting on matrix. This piece is remarkable for Bolivia both from the standpoint of the Amethyst crystals and the associated Calcite, as Calcite is virtually unheard of from any locality in this country, and Bombori has certainly produced the best Calcites from Bolivia extant. A fine little matrix piece and very attractive compared to manyh from Bombori.
