Amethyst with Calcite* (*Calcite is rare from Bolivia)

Item Description

This specimen is an attractive small miniature piece consisting of a few good quality, sharp, gemmy, lustrous, prismatic, lavender prisms of Amethyst measuring up to 18 mm associated with white/colorless modified rhombohedra of Calcite sitting on a thin layer of underlain forest-green "chlorite" on matrix. This piece is remarkable for Bolivia as Calcite is virtually unheard of from any locality in this country, and Bombori has certainly produced the best Calcites from Bolivia extant. A fine matrix piece and very attractive compared to most from Bombori.
