Item Description

Sculptural and rare pair of intergrown amethyst crystals from a singular 1988 find at this obscure Inyo County locality. The translucent blush-purple crystals with satin lustre faces are dramatically accented by the sharp skeletal feature or fenster on the large crystal and by the beautiful dark purple phantoms in both crystals. Both crystals are partially doubly terminated and rest atop a shard of milky quartz. Complete all-around and pristine, the piece has exceptional 360-degree form. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. An outstanding and rare Inyo County amethyst.
