Amethyst stalactite (Hauck. Coll.)

A beautiful, elegant stalactite of amethyst from the classic locale of Uruguay. This piece, however, is an older one, dating back probably 20-40 years. It was until recently in the Richard Hauck quartz collection. It is complete all around, and has intense, deep, grape-juice color. The highest quality alone though, does not make these more than lumps of purple unless you get a nice aesthetic form, too. And this stalactite, complete all around, has exceptionally good form with a little curl at the end. Valued at $2000, thi sis a superb example of a rather common material still on the market today, though not often in such quality. To us, that make sit more collectible stil - when something from the common lot really stands out this much.
