Item Description

A very rare and striking quartz scepter from an uncommon locale in Bahia, Brazil. A sharp, very glassy and translucent, 2.5 cm, amethyst/smoky quartz crystal is jauntily perched on a strange, sharp, partially retrograde quartz crystal. The outer rind is tan and lustrous, while the core is glassy on the translucent stem. None of us has seen a quartz scepter from this locale with these unique characteristics. Complete all-around and very nearly pristine, with only barely noticeable termination wear. Dramatic and highly unusual sceptered quartz from Brazil. The backlit photos highlight the color saturations in the scepter. Probably older material. Valued at $450-550. Choice material from the Schlichter Collection.
