Item Description
The famous quartz crystals from Denny Mountain, Washington are highly desirable, difficult to obtain and very dangerous to collect. Several people have lost their lives collecting there, over the years. This is a dramatic, incredibly sculptural specimen. A striking, parallel pair of amethyst scepters are artistically set on a pair of perpendicular parallel quartz crystals! The glassy, translucent scepters have a very pretty variable purple blush and some faces have skeletal features. The scepters are included with tiny acicular crystals of lepidocrocite/goethite/hematite creating the beautiful "Strawberry Quartz" effect that is known from this area. The large complexly terminated scepter is 9.5 cm. Complete all-around and very nearly pristine, with only the small scepter tip having a trivial bit of bruising. This is a rare supremely desirable, 360-degree Denny Mountain dual sceptered amethyst specimen. Ex Robert Hauck Quartz Collection. Valued at $1500-2000.
