Item Description
Striking variable purple gemmy, glassy and lustrous amethyst scepters dramatically crown many of the quartz points on this rich, very showy, sculptural and rare specimen from a less well-known Inyo County, California locale. Both sides are striking on this fine piece, that comes from a singular 1998 find. Complete all-around and essentially pristine, with only minor contacting to quartz crystals, where other crystals once lay. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. An outstanding and rare Inyo County amethyst. We have seen very few specimens like this for sale
