Item Description

An uncommon specimen of lilac Amethyst from the unlikely locality of the Wah Wah Mountains. Obviously, this region is best known for the gooseberry colored Red Beryl specimens, and honestly, I have only seen a few Quartz crystals over the years. This particular piece is a very good Quartz / Amethyst featuring a sharp, prismatic, gemmy, lustrous pale lilac colored crystal with a few stark tan colored inclusions of Siderite. A great chance for a Quartz collector to pick up an excellent display piece of this hard to find material from Utah. Really cool for a U.S. Amethyst, and they are seldom seen on the market in any capacity. From what I understand, the region that produced these specimens has dried up, so don 't pass this one up. This piece comes from the collection of Harold Urish.
