Amethyst scepter with Phantoms

Gene Meieran loved everything about quartz and kept a large suite of exceptional single crystals of all habits and styles, assembled over 60 years and more as a collector. He had a good array of Brandberg amethysts, although now has pared things down to just a few large pieces left, and a suite of fine singles in this size range. And this is FINE indeed - a sharp, mesmerizing crystal with patterns and geometry, and a riveting grape jelly purple color. It is exquisite. Such points usually sell in the $2500-5000 range at shows and this quality is generally from finds of the early 2000s when he thinks he did acquire this (although we admittedly do not know for sure and modern finds are still quite nice, although tend to be weaker on the scepter effect). This is a gorgeous crystal - dark and saturated but not TOO dark.
