Amethyst (scepter) with Calcite* (*Calcite is rare from Bolivia)

Item Description

This specimen is a great small cabinet size piece consisting of good quality, sharp, gemmy, lustrous, prismatic, crystals of Amethyst (including one fine scepter habit crystal) sitting atop white / grey modified scalenohdra of Calcite with minor underlain "Chlorite". This piece is remarkable for Bolivia both from the standpoint of the Amethyst crystals and the associated Calcite, as Calcite is virtually unheard of from any locality in this country, and Bombori has certainly produced the best Calcites from Bolivia extant. This is one of the better pieces from the find for quality, aesthetics and overall quality. The largest Amethyst crystal measures 1.6 cm.
