Item Description

A fascinating 360-degree amethyst scepter with variable length on a smoky quartz stalk from the well-known Washington Camp. The glassy, tranlucent scepter has beautiful and unusual lavender color and the scepter length varies from 7.2 to 3.1 cm long. The smoky phantom within the scepter really accentuates the piece. The smoky quartz stalk is very unusual in its own right. Two striking undamaged contacted faces reveal that the smoky stalk is both transparent and translucent. Two faces have a strange secondary overgrowth of nubby oxide-tinted quartz and another face is covered with sparkly drusy quartz. Very interesting quartz chemistry on the stalk. Complete all-around and essentially pristine. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. A most unusual style and excellent amethyst scepter from the locale.
