Item Description

The Little Giant Basin in San Juan County has produced some very attractive Quartz specimens, including fine skeletal and scepter Amethyst specimens. This piece is an excellent, very gemmy, sharp, lustrous, white to purple very slightly sceptered crystal group that is complete on all sides. The termination shows a slight amount of skeletal windowing or "Fenster" as it is called in German. The piece is virtually undamaged, save the bottom where it detached from the pocket. This particular piece was collected by San Juan collector, Mark Mahlum in the summer of 2009, and is a great example of the type of specimens that can be found in the Little Giant Basin.
