Amethyst (rich color - 'phantom' crystals)

Item Description

A superb quality, highly aesthetic, group of beautiful purple Amethyst crystals from the well-known Goboboseb Mountains, near Brandberg, Namibia. The smaller Amethyst crystal flaring off the side of the piece has outstanding rich saturated "grape jelly" purple color, along with striking "phantoms", while the larger Amethyst has a mixture of purple and white / colorless zoning with visible "phantoms". A small layer of sparkling golden-brown Goethite can be seen coating select faces on the side and of the piece. The overall form and superior quality make it a very distinctive and showy piece of this now world famous material. No real damage on the display side, only a few TINY imperfections, and while it's not complete on the base / back it's still in good condition where it separated from the pocket. I should point out there is a small secondary Amethyst crystal on the back, which at one point was contacted, but has recrystallized ("re-healed"), and actually shows multiple "stepped" terminations. It's rare to find such eye-catching, high quality groups like this, and this piece would make a stellar addition to any gem crystal suite, or a collection of worldwide Quartz specimens.
