Item Description

Ordinarily, Quartz and Calcite wouldn't be considered rare, but Calcite as a crystallized species is actually VERY rare from Bolivia. During the early to mid 2000s, the locality at Bombori produced some attractive Amethysts on Calcite, which often features scepter and "reverse" scepter habit Quartz crystals. This specimen is an attractive cabinet size piece consisting of excellent quality, sharp, GEM/gemmy, prismatic, lavender Amethyst crystals that show very distinct "reverse" scepter habits along with simple prisms measuring up to 1.2 cm sitting on sharp, lustrous, translucent, modified rhombic Calcite with a thin layer of underlain green "Chlorite" on matrix. I would say this is one of the better pieces from the find for quality, aesthetics, diversity of crystal habits and overall appeal. A cool association specimen of this now very hard to find material. Nothing has come out for years at this point.
