Amethyst (reverse scepters) with Calcite* (*Calcite is rare from Bolivia)

Item Description

This specimen is an attractive small cabinet piece consisting of a few good quality, sharp, gemmy, lustrous, prismatic, lavender "reverse" scepter habit crystals and simple prisms of Amethyst measuring up to 1.1 cm associated with white/colorless modified scalenohedra of Calcite sitting on matrix. Despite the fact that this is a Quartz and Calcite association peice, it's actually pretty remarkably for Bolivia as Calcite is virtually unheard of from any locality in this country, and Bombori has certainly produced the best crystallized Calcites from Bolivia extant. The Calcite crystals on this specimen are sharp, with good translucency which is certainly not common for this material. Lastly, there is a small bladed grey colored Baryte crystal on the specimen for a nice touch, since they are rare from this locality. A good matrix piece and pretty attractive compared to most from Bombori.
